The midfielder scored the only goal of the game as the Bees beat Oldham to win their third successive game at home.

“It’s going to be one to remember,” Forshaw told London24. “I’m happy with the three points.

“I haven’t set an exact goal target but I’d like to get as many as I can.”

Forshaw was only spectator for the last 35 minutes of the match and he was delighted with the way his team-mates held on to their slender advantage.

“The lads did really well in the last 10-15 minutes,” he added.

“Leon Legge came on for the last 10 and the lads kept it tight.

The former Everton man explained the reason as to why he was withdrawn so early after a commanding performance in the midfield.

“I’ve got a bit of an ongoing abdominal problem,” he revealed.

“Hopefully it means I’m all right for next weekend.”
