Transfer news: The Eagles boss praised Ross McCormack

Crystal Palace manager Dougie Freedman has hailed Leeds striker Ross McCormack but denied reports the frontman is set to join the Eagles.

Reports had suggested that the south Londoners were looking to do a deal believed to be worth around £800,000 but Freedman moved to deny these rumours.

“Ross is a fantastic player and I do know him quite well, but it might be a little far-fetched to suggest anything,” said Freedman.

“You are never close to a deal until a player puts pen to paper, but we are active in trying to do one or two deals.

“But we have got a bit more integrity in how we do stuff than to discuss it through the papers and we will do our business in the right way.”
