Paul McShane has been called into the Republic of Ireland squad for the European Championships
Crystal Palace defender Paul McShane has been handed a Euro 2012 lifeline with the Republic of Ireland.
The 26-year-old replaces Wolves defender Kevin Foley, who suffered a hamstring injury.
In the 2010 World Cup qualifying play-off McShane was the defender directly behind Thierry Henry when the Frenchman handled the ball late in extra time as he set up William Gallas’ winning goal.
