Crystal Palace star Dean Moxey has backed new signing Joel Ward to be a success at the club.

The Eagles are believed to have paid £400,000 to sign the 22-year-old from relegated Portsmouth and had also been linked with Ipswich, Leeds, Burnley, Sheffield Wednesday and Blackpool.

“Joel (has) proved himself at Portsmouth and other places,” Moxey told the club’s official site.

“It’ll great to get back to pre-season, meet all the new lads and make them feel welcome.”
