Millwall midfielder Liam Trotter has revealed that the Lions are determined to finish above south London rivals Crystal Palace.

The Eagles have had the bragging rights in south London for the majority of the season but Millwall overtook them on goal difference after their 3-0 win with Ipswich.

“Yeah for sure,” he admitted. “I’d be lying if I said the lads hadn’t looked at it.

“We went level on points with them after our win at Ipswich [Millwall are ahead on goal difference] so we’ll be looking for another three points on Saturday to stay above them as that is something we can give back to the fans.”

The Lions host play-off certainties Blackpool on Saturday, while Crystal Palace entertain Cardiff City, who are not yet assured of their play-off place.
