Millwall Kenny Jackett is pleased with progress as the Lions take a break from competitive action from the internationals.

The Lions started training on June 22 and have reached the first break in league action with two wins and two losses after their opening four games.

“We have to capitalise on the good things,” Jackett explained. “Our passing has been improving. We’ve looked like scoring goals.

“Defensively we haven’t been as tight as we would have liked. You have to be responsible.

“We worked hard and were back on June 22. We got through to the start of the season with most being available.

“We feel that, in terms of our squad, that they’re fit and available. We’re not looking for these two weeks to help players back.”

Two players that have been missing are captain Paul Robinson and Jack Smith and both should be in line to face Hull when the Championship resumes on September 15. “Paul Robinson will play in a development game on Tuesday,” Jackett said.

“When the Championship games come around again, he will be fit and available as will Jack Smith.”
