Joe Gallen was delighted after his side beat Pompey 1-0

Millwall assistant manager Joe Gallen hailed the Lions front three of Darius Henderson, Spurs loanee Harry Kane and Andy Keogh for their part in keeping a clean sheet after their 1-0 win over Portsmouth last night.

Kane struck the only goal of the game as Millwall moved eight points clear of the relegation zone.

“It’s a team effort, the clean sheet,” Gallen told Lions Player. “It starts from the front and if you’ve got forwards willing to close down the the guys behind them have less to do.

“The best form of defending is keeping the ball, having the ball in the oppositions half.

“In recent weeks between Henderson, Kane and Keogh in particular have caused problems.”
