Millwall new boy Scott Malone believes that the Lions’ two escapades have helped him settle in at The Den.

The former Wolves and Bournemouth man joined the club as part of a swap deal that saw Josh McQuoid return to Dean Court and he has enjoyed his time in south London so far.

“It’s been good,” he told London24. “The trips to Exmouth and Ireland helped me settle into the group and play a few games.

“I’ve started most of the friendlies so it’s going well.

“I wasn’t told much. It happened quite quickly – it was done within a week. It’s Championship football and I’m looking forward to it.”

Not even the added distraction of the Olympics has led to any problems after completing his move.

“I’ve been watching it on the telly,” he explained. My other half is bored of it. The traffic has been all right though.”

The 21-year-old started his career at Wolves and he is relishing a return to Molineux.

“I’m looking forward to Wolves after coming from there as well as Bolton and Blackburn,” he said.
