Millwall star Liam Trotter believes that the Lions’ new signings have settled in well after the first month of the campaign.

Manager Kenny Jackett brought in Chris Taylor, Karleigh Osborne, Danny Shittu and Scott Malone during the summer months.

“They’ve settled in great,” Trotter said. “They’re great lads and more importantly they’re good players and they’ve settled in fine.”

Former Brentford man Osborne admitted to London24 before the start of the campaign that he had been unhappy with his pre-season “I’ve been trying to get my fitness up,” he said at the time,

“I was out for a long time last season so felt I was a bit further behind than usual.

“I haven’t played my best games in pre-season. I’d rather play my best times in the league.”

Having made a competent league start against Sheffield Wednesday marked his home debut with a confident performance that delighted the Lions vice-captain.

“Karleigh had a really good game today,” Trotter said. “He had a bit of an up-down pre-season.

“He’s come in today and played really well after doing well last week at Sheffield Wednesday.

“He’s getting to grips with the Championship and can only improve as the season goes on. It’s about him learning and adapting to this league.”

Trotter also hailed Kenny Jackett for the way he has assembled his side, despite having one of the lowest budgets in the league.

“We’ve put together a really good team,” Trotter added.

“It’s a budget that is less than the rest.

“We can be confident that we can have a good season.”
