Millwall star Jimmy Abdou was left disappointed after the Lions were beaten by two goals to nil by Cardiff City.
Peter Whittingham and Craig Noone scored in the space of three second half minutes to condemn the south Londoners to a defeat that leaves them hovering above the relegation zone.
“We were at home so we had expected to win the game,” Abdou said.
“At half time we were still expecting it. It’s a big disappointment but we’ll look to bounce back on Saturday.
“In the first half we were comfortable. We had the ball and we tried to play.”
The south Londoners looked to have gelled as a side but have conceded six goals in two games since the international break but the midfielder was not going to use that as an excuse.
“I don’t think the break broke our flow. The division is very difficult,” he explained.
