The Lions frontman is convinced that the opener was his and not an Aaron Cresswell own goal

Millwall striker Andy Keogh has insisted that he was the man who scored the opening goal against Ipswich.

Liam Trotter had crossed the ball to the Lions frontman and he poked his shot past Town goalkeeper Arran Lee-Barrett.

The ball was trickling into the bottom right hand corner but Aaron Cresswell’s attempted clearance sent the ball into the bottom left hand corner leading to questions being raised about the scorer but the former Wolves man was in no doubt that it was his.

“It’s definitely my goal!” he told London24. “It was going in.

“The defender tried his best to clear and didn’t do it.

“The referee [Colin Webster] told me it’s my goal as well.

“If my shot is going on target then it’s my goal.”

The 25-year-old also scored his second, three minutes from time and felt his side were worthy of the victory.

“It was a good game,” he added. “I really enjoyed the game and think we deserved the win.

“It was nice to score two as well.”
