QPR manager Harry Redknapp has called on Junior Hoilett to step up to the plate as the season enters its final 11 games.

The Canadian has been suffering with a hamstring injury that has limited his impact at Loftus Road.

“Maybe Junior Hoilett might come alive,” Redknapp said. “We might see something from Junior as he’s been injured or not played since I’ve been here.

“Maybe the time now is for Junior to come to the front and I might get forwards to do something for me.”

Redknapp believes that the key to survival in the Premier League is to keep Bobby Zamora and Loic Remy fit.

The pair have been nursing hip and groin injuries respectively and the former England international also suffered a knock to his ankle in the 2-0 defeat to Manchester United on Saturday.

“I think that’s our only chance,” Redknapp said.

“I think in the first half every time we played the ball up to Bobby, he got hold of it, he gave us a little chance to go up and join him and I still think the players don’t really know or they’ve got to learn how to play with him.

“If his ankle’s okay - he’s got a bad, bad hip, which needs an operation in all honesty - even a half-fit Bobby Zamora is still a top player and I think if I can get him and Remy together I think they could be a good pair.”

The majority of pundits have tipped Rangers to be relegated at the end of the season but Redknapp remains upbeat about their chances.

“We have nothing to lose,” he said. “Everyone thinks we’re gone, don’t they?

“’Oh forget QPR, they’re dead’. We ain’t dead. You can change it so quickly, so quickly.

“At Portsmouth, I had a crap team and we got 20 points in the last 10 games and stayed up. It ain’t impossible.

“We can do it. I’ve got to be upbeat and I’m looking forward to the challenge.”
