Park insists Green has what it takes to succeed at Loftus Road

Ji-Sung Park insists QPR’s players have full confidence in goalkeeper Rob Green, despite the England man’s shaky performances so far this season.

Green’s howler on the opening day of the campaign against Swansea City paved the way for a 5-0 defeat, while in the 1-1 draw at Norwich on Saturday the keeper suffered another nervy moment.

Green appeared to handle the ball outside the area after a mix-up with centre-back Nedum Onuoha, an error which went un-punished by referee Mark Clattenburg.

However, Rs skipper Park believes his 32-year-old is improving game by game and quickly putting his nervous start behind him.

“He forgot things quickly, that’s the good thing,” said Park. “We’ve only had two games. He has the ability so we just leave him and give him the confidence.

“He’s not a young player and has experience. Every player speaks to each other and if we have problems we sort them out.

“He’s not worried about them. [Against Norwich] he showed that he’s getting better.”

Park was encouraged by QPR’s point in East Anglia, although the South Korean midfielder warned that there is still plenty of work to be done for Mark Hughes’s much-changed side.

“The most important thing is we did better than last week. It was our first away game and we got a point,” added Park. “We are working in the future to get better. Everyone knows we have ability but we need to improve a lot.”
