QPR transfer news: Radek Cerny has signed a new deal with the club, while Bruno Perone has departed

QPR goalkeeper Radek Cerny has been awarded a new one-year contract, keeping him at Loftus Road until 2013.

The 38-year-old only made five Premier League starts last season and one in the FA Cup as both Neil Warnock and Mark Hughes preferred Paddy Kenny in goal.

“I’m pleased,” he told the club’s official website. “At my age, if I’m offered a one-year deal, that’s perfect for me. It’s fantastic to still be involved with the Premier League.

“For goalkeepers, it’s a little bit different to outfield players - age doesn’t come into it as much.

“My experience is probably why I’m still here. I’ve got experience and I always give 100 per-cent when I train. Hopefully that rubs off on the younger players.

“Mark Hughes and his staff have been really professional since they joined the Club and I’ve really enjoyed the last few months under them.

“Next season will definitely be different to last, as I know the quality and consistency of our play could be so much higher.

“We will try to finish as high as possible. Next season will be a big one, not just for me, but for everyone involved with QPR.”

Defender Clint Hill is also expected to sign a new deal at Loftus Road, while defender Bruno Perone has left QPR after his one-year deal with the club came to an end.
