Barcelona wizard Lionel Messi admits he is still hurting over his missed penalty against Chelsea in the Champions League semi final second leg.

Had the Argentine scored from the spot after Cesc Fabregas went down under pressure from Didier Drogba, the Blues would have needed to score again to progress but as they had the vital away goal the Catalans had to throw the kitchen sink at the west Londoners.

Chelsea battled manfully and in the final seconds Fernando Torres broke through and made it 2-2 on the night and 3-2 to the Blues on aggregate leaving Messi to rue his miss.

“I am still hurting from losing the semi-final against Chelsea with the penalty I missed, and La Liga with the defeat to Madrid at Nou Camp,” he said.

“They are both thorns in our side. But last season is now history.
