Chelsea interim manager Rafael Benitez felt that Manchester City goalkeeper was lucky not to receive at least a yellow card for upending Demba Ba early in the second half.
The England stopper redeemed himself by saving the penalty from Lampard.
Benitez said: “I have not seen the replay of penalty, but it’s a clear chance, so Hart should have, at least, got a yellow card.
“It was a good penalty but a good save too, so credit to Hart.”
“It was a turning point, in the game,” he added.
London24 asked Benitez if his side deserved anything from the game. He said: “We didn’t do well in first half but it was 0-0. We asked for more character. In the second half, we did well.
If you make mistakes you get punished.
“They are strong. We knew it was tough. But they controlled the midfield, but it will be a fight until the end,” he concluded.
