The former Bolton man, who moved to Stamford Bridge two years ago, picked up a calf injury in the 1-1 draw with West Brom.

Terry, on the other hand, picked up a muscle injury before the 3-0 win over Newcastle and also missed the draw at The Hawthorns.

Mourinho said: “John is not back and Cahill is not.

“He was injured in the game at West Brom. He didn’t finish the training session.

“He’s going for a scan to see whether he can play or not.”

Cahill had trained today but was unable to complete the session.
