Chelsea transfer news: Ivorian’s future to be sorted out after Bayern Munich clash
Chelsea interim head coach Roberto Di Matteo has said that the club will talk to Didier Drogba about his future following Saturday’s Champions League final.
The 34-year-old’s current deal is set to expire and he has been linked with moves abroad, with Chinese club Shanghai Shenua, said to be interested.
Drogba has scored 12 goals for the Blues this season, including vital goals against Barcelona in the Champions League and Wembley strikes against Barcelona and Liverpool.
Rumours had circulated that the Ivory Coast star was holding out for a two-year deal, while Chelsea would only offer one.
“The club will sit down with him after this game and see what the best outcome is for both,” Di Matteo said.
“He’s physically in good shape and lives a professional life. I don’t think it’s a question of age.”
