Transfer news: Chelsea have third bid rejected for Wigan’s Victor Moses.
Chelsea’s pursuit of Victor Moses has been dealt another blow as Wigan Chairman Dave Whelan revealed the club have rejected a third offer for the Nigeria international.
The 21-year-old forward’s inspirational performances towards the end of last season helped Wigan narrowly escape relegation, and he is believed to be high on Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo’s wish list.
“[Chelsea] have made three bids and we’ve not accepted any,” Dave Whelan said in The Sun. “They’ve all come in the last three weeks but they’ve not offered enough.
“I don’t know if they’ll bid again but if they do we always listen.
“We’re still hoping that he signs an extended deal,” added Whelan.
“If the lad had any brains he’d stay under Roberto (Martinez) for another year or so.”
