The European champions were handed the award by their peers at yesterday’s third annual ECA Awards.

Chelsea were recognised “for their outstanding achievement during the 2011-12 season on a European and domestic level”.

Last term saw the Blues finally end their wait for Champions League glory as well as winning the FA Cup, although they finished a lowly sixth in the Barclays Premier League.
