Transfer news: Andre Schurrle is wanted by the Blues
Bayer Leverkusen CEO Wolfgang Holzhauser has revealed that the club have turned down a bid over €20million from Chelsea for Andre Schurrle.
The 21-year-old, who can play anywhere in attack, had been subject to a bid from the Blues in the past and they came back with a bigger offer.
“We have received a very concrete offer from Chelsea for Andre Schurrle worth over €20m. Both clubs shoved figures back and forth for a while, but we eventually opted to hold on to Andre,” Holzhauser is quoted as saying by Express.
“Andre has too much importance for us on the pitch [to let go of him]. He has also made it very clear that he is happy to stay with us.”
