Chelsea captain John Terry is eyeing Manchester City’s second place in the Premier League but admitted that he envies Manchester United’s ability to ‘plug out results’.

The Blues travel to Eastlands on Sunday knowing that a victory could cut the gap to the Citizens to a single point.

In a season where bottom sides have beaten the ones at the top, such as QPR beating Chelsea and Southampton beating City, Terry believes his side have a golden opportunity to claim the victory over their Premier League rivals.

He said: “Everyone is beating each other this year. It’s a strange one. Manchester United always plug out results.

“It’s credit to them to do it season after season with the squad they’ve got as well. That’s the level we all want to be at.

“We’ve not had the best of seasons but we’re still in the mix.

“If we can improve our form 15-20 per cent, we’ll certainly give Manchester City a run for sure.”
