Chelsea forward Florent Malouda picked up a hamstring injury in the win over Blackburn and is a doubt for Saturday’s Champions League final against Bayern Munich.

The Frenchman looked sharp against Rovers and could have played his way into interim head coach Roberto Di Matteo’s plans.

“We took him off - precautionary - with a little problem with his hamstring,” the Italian said.

“Hopefully he’ll recover as soon as possible.”

The news was not so good on Luiz and Cahill, with Di Matteo admitting their fight to get over their hamstring injuries would “probably” continue right up to the day of the final.

He added: “They are getting better day by day.

“We’re going to try to push them this week in training and see how far we can take them.”
