Fernando Torres picked up the Euro 2012 golden boot
Chelsea star Fernando Torres is philosophical after winning the Euro 2012 golden boot.
The Blues striker scored three goals and produced an assist to win the award, despite being prominently on the bench.
“Football is like this,” he said. “This is my third Euros, in the previous ones I played almost all the games and scored two goals. In this one I have played less but won the Golden Boot.
“Football can be just or unjust like that depending how you look at it and that is why we like it so much.”
Torres had only scored 12 goals for the west Londoners in 67 games in the previous 18 months so the award could boost the Chelsea frontman ahead of the new season.
