Chelsea’s Juan Mata hopes to follow up his FA Cup and Champions League double and Euro 2012 triumph with an Olympic gold medal.

The 24-year-old, Chelsea’s Player of the Year last season, knows that Spain are favourites but has called on them to show it on the pitch,

“Our aim is to win gold at the Olympics,” he told Mundo Deportivo. “It’s another demand but we don’t feel pressure.

“You can’t buy the Olympics with a Euros trophy or a World Cup, we are favourites but we have to show it on the pitch,” he continued. “Brazil are a strong rival and Mexico have showed that they are a great team too.”
