Chelsea’ s Branislav Ivanovic has told his Blues’ team-mates it doesn’t matter how they win as long as they keep in touch with the Manchester United and City in the Premier League title race.
With the two Manchester clubs winning last weekend, Chelsea need a good result when they face Aston Villa on Sunday to maintain a healthy title challenge.
Chelsea are third in the table, 13 points behind leaders United and seven points behind City.
“For us it’s important to get results when we’re not playing well, to win ugly,” said Ivanovic.
“This is very important for the confidence and for the players to believe. We have three days to prepare for a very important game against Aston Villa at home, which will also be a very difficult moment and hard game for us.”
