Highly-rated Chelsea youngster Josh McEachran is hoping to make his mark in the first team this season but hasn’t ruled out another loan spell.

The 19-year-old England U21 international endured a frustrating time on loan at Swansea last season but is targeting more game time in the upcoming campaign. Whether or not it will be at Stamford Bridge, however, remains to be seen.

“I want to play as many games as I can for Chelsea this season,” he told the South Wales Evening Post. “I’m a Chelsea player and I want to play for Chelsea.

“But if the manager wants to send me out on loan then that’s up to him at the end of the day.

“Last season was a difficult time for me and I had to deal with a lot of frustration at Swansea. The whole reason I went there was to gain more experience of the Premier League but it didn’t work out that way.

“There are always setbacks and frustrations in football. It’s all about how you deal with them.”
