Kevin De Bruyne has revealed he is hoping to leave Chelsea on loan in a bid for first team football.

The 21-year-old Belgium international is reportedly close to joining Bundesliga side Werder Bremen.

“Coach [Roberto] Di Matteo understands my situation,” De Bruyne told Bild.

“I want to leave Chelsea and Werder is a good team.”

De Bruyne only joined Chelsea in January, before being loaned back to his old club Genk for the rest of the season.

Despite featuring in Chelsea’s pre-season USA tour, the midfielder has been pushed further down the pecking order by the arrivals of the Hazard brothers, Oscar and Marko Marin.
