Chelsea transfer news: Thibaut Courtois will join Atletico Madrid on a season long loan
Atletico Madrid have confirmed that goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois will spend next season at the club.
The Belgian was the number one at the Vicente Calderon during their last campaign and with Petr Cech the first choice at Stamford Bridge. Courtois will continue in La Liga.
“Thibaut Courtois will play next season at Atletico Madrid after an agreement was reached on Wednesday with Chelsea for a season-long loan,” the Spanish club confirmed in a statement.
Courtois made 37 league appearances last season, but has yet to play for Chelsea since signing from Genk last year.
