Chelsea transfer news: Blues in battle to buy Lucas Moura

Sao Paulo president Juvenal Juvencio says Chelsea are the team closest to signing Lucas Moura.

Top teams throughout Europe have been linked with the 19-year-old, with bids of around £20million thought to have been rejected by the Brazilian club.

The Blues are thought to have made an offer of over £30million and although that has also been declined by Sao Paulo, Juvencio does not believe they are far apart in agreeing a fee.

“At the moment it is Chelsea that are the closest team to Lucas,” he said.

“Inter have presented an offer but that was not considered satisfactory to us. Real Madrid are another one of the teams and there have been contacts with [president] Florentino Perez who admires the player very much.

“I do not know what it will take [for Moura to leave]. There are many factors. He is happy here and he will only go if there is an important proposal.”
