Chelsea transfer news: Patrice Evra says Eden Hazard should join Manchester United
Manchester United defender Patrice Evra says Eden Hazard should join Manchester United, assuring the Belgian that he will win titles with Sir Alex Ferguson’s side.
The 21-year-old is set to choose from United, champions Manchester City and Chelsea, after reportedly agreeing terms with all three sides.
“I’m not his father but, if he comes to Manchester, I assure him that he will win titles,” Evra told the Manchester Evening News. “That’s if he joins my Manchester, not the Blue side.”
It seems who he will join comes down to which club will select Hazard to play in the number 10 role, just behind a main striker, where he has excelled for Lille.
“I scored 20 league goals also had the most assists in the league, and I never believed I could possibly come up with such a fantastic set of statistics,” he said before Belgium’s 2-2 friendly draw with Montenegro.
“Certainly I could not have made such a decisive contribution had the coach at Lille not changed my position.
“It is all down to that. I have always dreamed of playing the No 10 role, and wearing that number on my back, and you can see what a difference it makes from how many goals I have scored and set up for others.
“That will be a consideration when I decide on my club. Where I will play will influence my thinking on who I should join.”
