Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo says Michael Owen could pose a real threat to the Blues when they host Stoke City on Saturday.
The 32-year-old former Manchester United and Real Madrid striker came off the bench for his Stoke debut against Manchester City, and is in the Potters’ squad to face Chelsea.
Di Matteo believes Owen is a “very good” signing for Stoke and believes Chelsea will need to be alert to his goalscoring threat.
“He’s a natural goalscorer,” said the Chelsea boss.
“He’s certainly a very good signing for Stoke.
“I was a little bit surprised because he’s not a tall player like the others,” he added.
“But he’s certainly a dangerous player and I’m sure they will benefit from his qualities.”
