Chelsea transfer news: Belgian says playing time and the Chelsea project is what attracted him to Stamford Bridge
Playing and time and belief in the Chelsea project were the main reasons why Eden Hazard says he chose to move to the Blues rather than Manchester City or United.
The west Londoners today announced that they had completed a deal for the Belgian, who will join the club in July.
Chelsea have paid around £32million for Hazard, who has reportedly agreed a five-year deal.
The player had previously said that he was going to join one of the Manchester clubs, but the Blues Champions League triumph changed the player’s mind.
“When they won the Champions League I told myself, ‘Why not Chelsea?’ Hazard told French radio station RMC.
“There was a struggle between Chelsea and United but, for me, Chelsea has the best project.
“The team is young and I have a better chance to play there.
“At 21, Real or Barca would have been more difficult for me.
“If I play well enough at Chelsea, I could win my place in the starting team.”
