Petr Cech believes reigning Champions League kings Chelsea will be the team that the rest of Europe will be targeting this term.
The Blues begin their title defence against Juventus at Stamford Bridge tonight and the goalkeeper – who made two decisive penalty shoot-out saves in the final against Bayern Munich last term – knows that his side will have their work cut out for them if they are to become the first team ever to retain the crown.
“Anybody who plays against us will want to raise their game, we are the defending champions so its extra motivation for everybody,” Cech told chelseafc.com.
“We’re playing Juventus, who have been missing from the Champions League for a few seasons, so they will definitely want to show they are back.
“Last time we played them we beat them in the knockout stages [in 2009], so this is a chance for them to get revenge for that defeat.”
