The Three Lions boss expects to see John Terry, Steven Gerrard and Ashley Cole turning out for their country in the future
England manager Roy Hodgson believes that Chelsea duo John Terry and Ashley Cole are determined to continue playing for the three Lions along with Liverpool and England captain, Steven Gerrard.
The trio have had their futures questioned after the Three Lions’ Euro 2012 exit as England look ahead to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
But Hodgson believes they will all play their part through qualifying and hopefully into the next tournament.
“They have given me every reason to believe they are very anxious to continue,” said the England boss.
“John Terry has been excellent, as has Ashley [Cole], as has Steven [Gerrard].
“So I’ve not even thought of asking the question: ‘Will you continue?’
“Because they would have to knock me over with a feather if they came to me and said ‘I’m not’.”
