Jamie Carragher was unhappy with Florent Malouda’s performance

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has launched a scathing attack on Chelsea star Florent Malouda, accusing him of not showing hunger nor desire.

The Blues forward was part of the France side that crashed out of Euro 2012 at the quarter final stage, courtesy of a 2-0 defeat to Spain.

And it was Malouda’s reaction to Xabi Alonso’s opener that caused Carragher’s ire.

“The thing that summed up France for me was Malouda’s reaction for Spain’s goal,” Carragher told ITV.

“In a game of this magnitude, his reaction was disgraceful.

“You’ve got to show something, but there was no hunger or desire.”

Malouda had revealed that there had been a dressing room bust-up after the Group D defeat to Sweden on Tuesday, that condemned Les Bleus to finishing behind England.

The 32-year-old had been dropped for the match but claimed that the argument was a positive thing.

“Sometimes you need to aim a few bursts of gunfire at each other,” Malouda told the Guardian.

“We said quite a few things to each other in the changing room, which is a good thing as it’s proof that we have temperament and character.”
