Chelsea transfer news: Sergio Batista hopes to bring Didier Drogba to Shanghai Shenua
New Shanghai Shenua manager Sergio Batista has made signing Chelsea legend Didier Drogba his top priority.
The club, who are fifth in the Chinese Super League, have been linked with the Ivory Coast international for some time and in January, signed Blues striker Nicolas Anelka.
“My initial thought is to bring Drogba to the club,” Batista said.
“He is a very good player and we will welcome him here.
“I very much hope that Drogba can join us.”
Drogba is available on a free transfer after he decided to finish his eight year association with the Blues at the end of his contract.
