Tim Krul is delighted about the Magpies league position but hopes to overhaul Arsenal and Tottenham

Newcastle star Tim Krul is delighted that his side are going to finish above Chelsea and Liverpool.

The Magpies are currently in fifth place but could finish third if they win and Arsenal and Tottenham fail to do so.

“To say that with one game to go is something special,” Krul said.

“Finishing above Chelsea and Liverpool - if you had said that at the start of the season, people would have said you were mad.

“I would have said you were mad, so that shows you what a fantastic season we have had and we can be proud of that.”

And the young goalkeeper is determined to do everything in his power to stop Arsenal or Tottenham competing in the Champions League next season.

“We need to get the three points and hopefully they drop some points,” he added.
