Chelsea transfer news: Benfica deny reports that they’ve accepted a bid for Axel Witsel
Benfica have denied reports that they have received any bids for alleged Chelsea, Manchester City, Real Madrid, AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain target Axel Witsel.
It had claimed that the Belgium international was set to depart the club after an impressive season in the Portuguese capital.
The statement read: “In light of the stories published today in several newspapers, Sport Lisboa e Benfica want to clarify that we have not received any proposals up to this point for Witsel and that the player has a release clause stipulated in his contract.”
