Oscar says lifting the Europa League was the perfect climax to an “incredible” first season at Chelsea.
The 21-year-old Brazil international has made a big impact at Stamford Bridge following his £25million arrival from Internacional in the summer and has swiftly become a key player for Rafael Benitez’s side.
Oscar completed the full 90 minutes in Wednesday’s Europa League final as Branislav Ivanovic’s stoppage time header sealed a 2-1 victory over Benfica.
The playmaker was delighted with the victory and says he is loving life with the Blues.
“I’ve finished [the season] as I wanted, a first team regular and a European champion,” he told Globo Esporte.
“For my first year, I think it was excellent, it was incredible. Everything I wanted to happen happened.”
Oscar has made over 60 appearances for Chelsea this campaign, scoring 12 goals, and he is delighted to repay the faith the club have shown in him.
“They trusted me and it worked out,” he said. “I was one of the players to play the most for Chelsea this season.”
He added: “I’m in love with London, it is an incredible city, everyone who knows me knows that. I am happy living in Europe.”
