Although former Blues boss won’t explain why he doesn’t think the Blues will progress
Former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho does not think Chelsea will beat Barcelona and progress to the Champions League final.
The Real Madrid boss led the west Londoners between 2004-08 and although he has won the competition with Porto and Inter Milan he could not do so with Blues.
Chelsea reached the last four after a 3-1 aggregate win over Benfica last night, while Barcelona beat AC Milan by the same margin.
No London club has ever won Europe’s premier competition and Mourinho, whose side will face Bayern Munich for a spot in the final, believes that run is set to continue.
“Let me be honest. I don’t think the final will be a Real Madrid - Chelsea final. I don’t think,” he said.
“I prefer to say only this. I don’t think it will be Real v Chelsea. It could be Bayern or Barcelona, I just don’t think it will be Real Madrid v Chelsea - and you know why.”
Mourinho is seemingly referring to Chelsea’s defeat against Barcelona at the same stage three years ago, where referee Tom Henning Ovrebo made a number of controversial decisions.
