Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo is delighted with the capture of full back Cesar Azpilicueta.

The Spaniard completed his move to Stamford Bridge today after a summer-long hunt and the Italian is pleased to have cover to his squad.

“He’s a young player from Marseille,” Di Matteo said.

“He is Spanish and come through the ranks with the youth level of the Spanish team.

“He will give us cover at right back with Branislav Ivanovic and Paulo Ferreira there.

“It gives us more options for the future as well. It’s competition for position like every other position.”

The Blues have also had their bid for Victor Moses accepted and the Wigan star will undergo a medical.

“The clubs have agreed terms now and the player will have a medical. Subject to that he might become a Chelsea player,” Di Matteo added.

“Roberto Martinez did a wonderful job with Moses when he signed him and developed him.

“Hopefully we can progress his development.

“He can help us with his ability. He’s a wide player. He’s got great dribbling ability. He’s a powerful player and a great player to have in our team. We tried very hard to get this player in. We like him very much and he’s a young player and he will be the future of the club.

“I think he has different abilities than the ones you are talking about. He’s good with or without the ball.”
