Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo has admitted that the likes of Paulo Ferreira and Florent Malouda are unlikely to leave the club this summer.

The Frenchman look set to be surplus to requirements after signing a wealth of attacking players including Marko Marin, Oscar, Eden Hazard and are set to sign Victor Moses, while Cesar Azpilicueta appears to be the Portuguese man’s replacement.

But no deal has been forthcoming for the unwanted pair.

“It doesn’t look like it at the moment,” Di Matteo said. “We’re looking to go into the season with this squad.

“That is the big challenge to have the right balance when you have all these offensive players.

“We had to take a risk because we were losing. Hopefully we don’t have to change the games all the time.
