England boss Roy Hodgson has picked Everton’s Phil Jagielka ahead of Chelsea’s Gary Cahill at centre back for tonight’s World Cup qualifier against Ukraine at Wembley.
The coach stayed true to his word that a replacement for injured Blues skipper John Terry would be his only change to side that beat Moldova 5-0 on Friday to kick off their campaign.
Terry was substituted late on in Chisnau having suffered an ankle injury and he withdrew from the squad on Sunday.
England team to play Ukraine at Wembley: Hart, Johnson, Baines, Lescott, Jagielka, Milner, Gerrard, Lampard, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Cleverley, Defoe.
