Cray Wanderers boss Ian Jenkins says revenge will be on his mind when Lowestoft Town make the trip to Hayes Lane this weekend.

The promotion-chasing sides meet on Sunday, but the memories of Cray’s 2-1 loss in Suffolk in November are still fresh in the manager’s memory.

Cray had two players sent off on that occasion and saw two penalties given against them, decisions which Jenkins felt were all influenced by the vocal home support, and he is now keen to even the score.

“It’s a big game,” he said. “We owe them one after the last time, which was a bit of a nightmare game for us.

“Around 700 fans were on the referee’s back all day and he wasn’t experienced enough to deal with the occasion.

“He probably shouldn’t have been given a game like that as he was definitely influenced by the crowd and it went against us on the day.

“We’re looking to put that right this weekend and get some revenge on them.”
