Andrew Strauss will feature heavily for Middlesex and Alastair Cook will be available briefly for Essex while Kent’s James Tredwell is fully available

The ECB have confirmed that Kevin Pietersen will only available for the Surrey’s game against Worcestershire on May 9.

The 32-year-old, who only made two First Class appearances for the county last season, is away at the Indian Premier League (IPL), where he helped Delhi Daredevils secure a win over Chennai Super Kings.

Surrey team-mate Steven Davies is available for all cricket between now and May 17, when England face the West Indies in the first Test, while Chris Tremlett is currently unavailable following back surgery.

England Test captain Andrew Strauss will be available to play county cricket for Middlesex from Monday until May 14.

The skipper’s position has come into question in recent weeks after the 35-year-old averaged 25.8 during England’s winter Test matches against Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

His Middlesex colleague Steven Finn is only available for the championship matches against Durham (April 19-22) and Worcestershire (May 9-12), while Eoin Morgan will be available from May 15, after his IPL commitments.

One Day International captain Alastair Cook is available between May 2 and May 13 for Essex, while Ravi Bopara is available for all cricket.

Kent’s James Tredwell is available for all cricket.
