Tony Craig can’t wait for Saturday’s Captial One Cup clash at Walsall where he hopes to make his competitive debut for Brentford.

The Bees rounded off their pre-season campaign with a 4-1 win over npower League Two Wycombe Wanderers last night and now the defender, who signed from Championship side Millwall in the summer, is keen to get the real action started.

“Thankfully pre-season is over now and we have got the important stuff starting on Saturday against Walsall,” Craig told Brentford’s official site.

It will be another seven days after the Saddlers clash before the Craig can get his npower League One campaign underway at Bury, but the goalscorer says his new side are aiming high.

“We have got to go for the play-offs,” he said. “I think we are looking for promotion this season, that is what everyone in the squad is going for.

“We have got great confidence in that and hopefully it will be a long and successful season.”
