Edgar Davids is happy with the improvements Barnet are making after tonight’s 2-2 draw against Oxford United.

The former Holland international arrived at Underhill last month to try to boost the ailing Bees and recently talked about moving his charges into “phase two” of their development.

Barnet’s new joint head coach, who sat out of the game against Oxford due to suspension, is happy with the progress that is occuring after his side showed real character to come from 2-1 down to take a point.

“At the end of the match they did very well,” said 39-year-old Davids. “So I am happy about that.

“[With] what is demanded from them and how they need to play with certain systems, there has been a lot of progression today.”

The result keeps the north London outfit in the relegation zone but two draws in their last two League Two games means they are beginning to turn their season around.

Davids believes his colleagues should now look to start winning games rather than just drawing them.

He said: “You will also be realistic. We’ve played better than Accrington and today we played better than Oxford, however instead of making the winner we made the equaliser, that is why I am unhappy.

“I never had any doubt that we would lose the game.”
