AFC Wimbledon will not accept the boardroom hospitality of MK Dons next month and chief executive Erik Samuelson has said that no-one from the club will shake the hand of Milton Keynes chairman Pete Winkelman.

The two clubs have been drawn against each other in the FA Cup second round and emotions are still raw at the south London club which was formed by fans after the original Wimbledon FC were relocated to Buckinghamshire ten years ago and then subsequently renamed.

Samuelson revealed that the decision to snub the League One outfit’s top brass - when the two meet at stadium:mk on December 2 - was made following a meeting of the supporters’ trust months before they were set on a cup collision course for the first time ever.

“Some months ago I went to the directors of the Dons Trust, the parent board of the club,” Samuelson told BBC London 94.6.

“I said, ‘Some day we will be drawn away to Milton Keynes. What do you want to do?’

“After a long discussion by the owners, they decided they would not accept hospitality on the day of the game.

“They instructed the football club board not to go too.

“The fans are deciding they don’t want us to go into the boardroom. Therefore, there will be no hand to shake.”
