Transfer news: Lukas Podolski believes in-demand Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski would be a perfect fit for Arsenal.

Lewandowski has been linked with some of Europe’s top clubs this summer, with Chelsea, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid all among his suitors.

Dortmund are reportedly desperate to keep hold of the Pole, who only has one year left to run on his contract and is unwilling to sign a new deal.

Gunners forward Podolski believes Lewandowski has the ability to play at any club in the world, and he admits he would love to see him in an Arsenal shirt.

“First of all, it should be him that decides, not journalists or managers,” Podolski said in an interview with polskatimes.pl.

He added: “This is a guy who scored 24 goals in the league this season. He could handle it anywhere. He would fit perfectly at Arsenal.”
